Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using OurBridge (the “App” or “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use OurBridge. These Terms apply to all users of the iOS app and the browser-based session viewer.

2. What OurBridge Does

OurBridge is a real-time video and audio bridge that connects a blind or low-vision person wearing Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses (“User 1”) with a trusted family member or friend in a browser (“User 2”). User 1 initiates sessions from the iOS app. User 2 joins via a one-time link sent by SMS.

Sessions are not recorded. No video or audio is stored by OurBridge.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use OurBridge. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide during onboarding is accurate and truthful.

4. Account and Phone Verification

User 1 must provide a valid phone number and verify it via SMS one-time passcode (OTP) during onboarding. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Do not share OTP codes with anyone.

5. SMS Messaging Program

Program name: OurBridge

By providing your phone number and verifying it, you consent to receive the following transactional SMS messages from OurBridge:

  • OTP verification codes — sent once during onboarding to verify your phone number (e.g., “Your OurBridge verification code is 847293. Expires in 10 minutes. Do not share this code.”).
  • Session invitation links — sent to your trusted contacts when you start a session (e.g., “Dad is waiting for you. Join: https://x.ourbridge.app/join/...”).

OurBridge does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages. All messages are transactional and directly related to your use of the Service.

Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your usage. You will receive one OTP during onboarding. Session invitation messages are sent only when you initiate a session.

Message and data rates may apply. Standard SMS and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply to messages you receive.

Opt-out and support:

  • Reply STOP to any OurBridge SMS message to opt out of future messages.
  • Reply HELP to any OurBridge SMS message for help, or contact us at support@ourbridge.app.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use OurBridge to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Share session links with unauthorized third parties.
  • Attempt to record, intercept, or store session video or audio by any means.
  • Harass, harm, or impersonate any person.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app.

7. Privacy

Your use of OurBridge is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it carefully.

8. Third-Party Services

OurBridge relies on third-party services including Twilio (SMS), LiveKit (real-time streaming), Google Cloud / Firestore (data storage), Meta DAT SDK (glasses camera access), and Apple APNs (push notifications). Your use of OurBridge is subject to the terms and policies of these services. We are not responsible for the actions or availability of third-party services.

9. Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in OurBridge — including the app, branding, and content — are owned by OurBridge. These Terms do not grant you any license to our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the Service as described herein.

10. Disclaimers

OurBridge is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service. OurBridge is not a substitute for emergency services — if you or your loved one is in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OurBridge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed $100.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to OurBridge at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required to do so by law. You may stop using the Service at any time and request deletion of your account by contacting support@ourbridge.app.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of OurBridge after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of California.
